April 2011 MBT, as renowned Swiss brand, takes part in the `Harrods goes Swiss event`. The famous London luxury mall invites:

“Harrods goes Swiss in April. Tastings of artisan foods (cheese, wine, chocolate, coffee) take place in an alpine chalet; window displays show a Swiss model railway, live wood carvings and the Switzerball, a world-famous installation by English artist Charles Morgan. It’s a promotional exercise from the Swiss tourist board but it should be worth a yodel.”

Event :MBT Wins 2011 Red Dot Award for Product Design

In March of 2011 MBT is proud to announce that the Ari, the inaugural style in the Brand’s new “Ultimate” category, garnered the 2011 red dot award for product design— the first shoe in the physiological footwear arena to do so. The award is just the latest example of MBT’s leadership and expertise in making footwear that provide the perfect blend of function and style.

The red dot is a globally recognized seal of quality bestowed on products that meet the highest standards of design excellence and distinguish themselves from others in their respective categories. The well-known competition is becoming increasingly significant internationally, with approximately 1,700 companies from 60 countries submitting a total of 4,433 products this year.

In 1996, MBT revolutionized the global shoe market by developing its unique curved sole construction and forging its own physiological footwear category. More than fifteen years later, MBT’s patented technology has been interpreted by numerous brands, but never matched in its originality or performance. In an increasingly crowded physiological footwear category, MBT has set itself apart as the originator and has continued to lead the way through superior styling and product innovations.

Event :Function with style. Italian style.

For the `11 Spring/Summer Collection MBT announced a collaboration with Italian designer Alberto Del Biondi, one of the most sought after international shoe designers.

Alberto Del Biondi explains: "the first time I saw an MBT shoe I immediately sensed that it was possible to create an ambitious and innovative project. Combining technology with the MBT wellness component and Italian design was very challenging for me and the result is something unique and immediately recognizable. The objective of our cooperation with MBT was to bring technology to the world of fashion by creating a men’s and women’s collection that had an elegant and refined appeal, characterized by a timeless minimal design and utmost care to the quality of materials. An accessory with an innovative and contemporary concept revealing care for “the person” wearing it, which is an essential point of reference for all my projects”.

German designer Wolfgang Joop’s avantgarde fashion brand WUNDERKIND announces collaboration with MBT
When :October 2010

For his Wunderkind spring summer collection 2010 German fashion designer Wolfgang Joop designed three limited editions of MBT footwear.

Launching their SS10 collection in Milan and Paris fashion weeks, WUNDERKIND will exclusively reveal the limited MBT to the fashion trade industry before unveiling it to the public during their SS10 show at the Carrousel du Louvre, Paris on October 7th. 

The Wunderkind limited edition MBTs are based on MBT’s Mary-Jane style “Tunisha” and come in a blue and white, red and white and black and yellow Toile de Jouy canvas that match clothes and accessories from the collection. They are available in Spring 2010 at WUNDERKIND stores and selected WUNDERKIND and selected international MBT retailers.
