I Can Move Again
I first tried on MBT's in the fall of 2006. I couldn't afford them, but as soon as I put them on I could move. I felt like I could move like a tennis player, or move back and receive a pass. As soon as I took them off, I was stuck in the muck. But, to check on myself I went to another store and they had the new athletic shoes, I tried them on to see if I had only imagined it. Nothing happened. The clerk wanted to sell me some shoes, so he asked me about my experience with the MBTs. I told him what I said above, and said further that it was like all my muscles were ready for action, all called to attention, like an athlete in the blocks at a track meet, or the head hunt horse rippling for action knowing that was the head of the field. So four years later, I went and tried them on again. I have only been able to wear flats, or the type of kitten heel that comes to a point fast, so I could rock. Well, the same thing happened the second time I tried them on four years later. I have multiple schlerosis, and with these shoes I don't need the cane. I haven't been able to stand in any lines or wait for a bus, because my spine seems to short circuit (I am on my last nerve, so to speak) I tell people I have elephant's disease, have to stay in motion. Well, I have to use a cane to get in and out of a car, but with the MBT's I leave the cane in the car, and walk the big dog confidently. I am glad these sandals were on sale and extra off because it was George Washington's birthday sale. I realize that for my situation, I either have to be on a small point, or MBT's in order not to be stuck to the ground. Once in motion I am good to go. Now I can't whip my spine around, so I keep my motions tight and close to my body, but in motion, in my MBT's so far so good. I am hoping they will keep me going and less disabled. My dog loves to keep up with me now. I think I should mention I have an American Indian Foot, high arches, and we have always considered our feet to be our brains, each toe a brain. Thank you MBT. I hope these shoes last. It will break my heart not to be able to move, to go to the museum and look at pictures.
